phpBMS

Creating a New Product

  1. Go to the Products screen at Product->Products. You should now see the Products search page. There are two main sections to this page, the first is the light blue area on top complete with tabs reading "basic", "advanced", "load search", etc. The second is the table below that with "part number", "name", "type", "status" and "unit price" columns.
  1. Select the plus sign button situated on top of the table section. If you are having problems finding it, hover your mouse over the page elements until you find the tooltip that pops up reading "new record".
  1. The Product form will load that has six major areas: Identification, Cost and Weight, Shipping, Web, Attributes and Memo. The web section is relevant if you are configuring your phpBMS program to integrate with external programs.
  1. Enter your new Product name into the field marked "Name". Repeat this for the other fields. Check boxes allow you to configure if things are taxable, prepackaged and/or oversized.
  1. In the "attributes" section on the left, choose a Product Category from the drop down menu. If you have not yet configured your project categories, see Creating Product Categories for more information
  1. At this time you can also choose the type and availability of your product, as well as leave any additional details or notes in the memo section.
  1. Choose the "save" button on the right hand side to save your product record.
